Renowned Medical Professional Dr Andrew Dearden Elected Chair of Trustees Role at Fight Bladder Cancer Charity

Fight Bladder Cancer selects Dr Andrew Dearden as the Chair of the Trustees, succeeding Deborah Major.

[Chinnor, Oxfordshire, 3 July 2023] — Fight Bladder Cancer, a leading UK charity based in Chinnor, Oxfordshire, dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by bladder cancer, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr Andrew Dearden as the new Chair of Trustees. Dr Dearden, a highly respected medical practitioner and former Treasurer of the British Medical Association based in Cardiff, Wales, brings a wealth of medical expertise and financial acumen to advance Fight Bladder Cancer's mission and vision.

With over 35 years of experience as a General Practitioner, Dr Dearden has consistently demonstrated his unwavering commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services to his patients. He embarked on his medical journey in 1994, qualifying as a GP and serving the Cardiff community with compassion and dedication. Throughout his career, he has actively engaged with numerous medical organisations and served in various leadership roles, making substantial contributions to the healthcare sector.

Dr Dearden's involvement with the British Medical Association has been noteworthy, serving at both Wales and UK levels and culminating in his esteemed tenure as Treasurer of the British Medical Association until 2018. Furthermore, his contributions extended to respected boards such as the British Medical Association and British Medical Journal and he also served as the Treasurer to the World Medical Association. He also served as the internal auditor to the CPME, the Standing Committee for European Doctors. His diverse experience in medical governance and financial management gives him a unique perspective to drive positive change and enhance the Fight Bladder Cancer charity's impact.

Dr Andrew Dearden expressed his enthusiasm for this new role:
